If your business advertises on Facebook or Instagram, something changed on 1 April 2026 that is worth understanding.

Meta has quietly moved higher-spend advertisers off credit card payments and onto monthly invoicing. Instead of charging your card at point of purchase, Meta now issues a consolidated invoice at the end of each billing cycle with around 30 days to pay via bank transfer.

For builders and trades running lead gen campaigns, that creates two real problems.

The first is rewards. If you have been earning frequent flyer points or cashback by routing Meta spend through a rewards credit card, that stops when payment moves to bank transfer. For businesses spending a few thousand dollars a month on advertising, the lost points add up quickly.

The second is cash flow. Credit cards give you a natural float. Monthly invoicing changes that rhythm, and for trades managing tight margins, timing matters.

How pay.com.au keeps you earning

pay.com.au is a business payments platform used by more than 80,000 Australian businesses. It sits between the invoice and your bank account, so when Meta issues you a monthly bill, you can pay it through pay.com.au using your existing rewards credit card. Meta gets paid as expected. You keep earning your card points on the spend.

The platform also has its own rewards program called PayRewards. Members earn PayRewards Points on payments processed through the platform, redeemable for flights, hotel stays and travel with a range of partners.

If your Meta invoice arrives in Euros, pay.com.au handles the foreign exchange directly within the platform. No separate bank transfer or third-party provider needed.

Is it worth setting up?

For businesses spending a meaningful amount on Meta ads each month, yes. The setup is straightforward, and the rewards you would otherwise lose are real. pay.com.au also works across other business expenses including supplier invoices, materials, BAS and payroll, so it earns its place beyond just advertising.

Try it free. Use code GOOD20 at sign-up for 20,000 bonus PayRewards Points. Find out more at pay.com.au.
