With 4 months to go, Metricon has clocked over 1000 contracts for Financial Year 24/25 based on their QBCC lodgements. 

After a slower 2023/24 by their standards with 604 contracts, Australia’s largest builder has bounced back emphatically in the current financial year. 

Based on current output, there is a chance the brand will get close to the 1588 homes they contracted in 2020/21, which was the most any single builder has built in QLD in the past 20 years. 

The resurgence from Metricon has been aided by a significant public/private partnership to complete 483 affordable homes in QLD through to 2027. 

No doubt there are significant challenges with such a rapid scale-up. 

Earlier in the year, Metricon CEO Brad Duggan said managing the surge required a clear plan and a solutions-driven mindset. 

“While these numbers are significant, they’re not unprecedented for us in Queensland—we’ve successfully delivered at this scale before,” Duggan said.

“We’ve streamlined processes and leveraged smart design to build efficiently while reducing costs and minimising our environmental impact.” 

In any case, there is no doubt that State Sales Manager Josh Darling and the rest of the Metricon team are very happy with the results.
