Yesterday morning at the Master Builders Queensland breakfast in Birtinya, something really special happened. It wasn’t just a gathering for coffee and conversation. It was a moment where the industry paused to rally around one of its most loved people — Nicola Scott.

Nicola is facing one of the toughest fights of her life right now, preparing to go into hospital this Wednesday as she continues her battle with breast cancer. And yet, in the middle of it all, she’s still showing up, still smiling, and still doing what she’s always done — looking out for others.

While quietly managing her own treatment, Nicola has raised over $3,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. That kind of selflessness is just who she is. She’s the type of person who lights up a room, who genuinely cares, and who gives her all no matter what life throws at her.

The breakfast was a reminder of just how much Nicola means to this industry. Builders, suppliers, admin teams, and site crews — everyone has a soft spot for her. You could feel the love and support in the room. People didn’t just show up for breakfast. They showed up for Nicola.

At The Good Builder, we want to send all our love and strength to her this week. We’re thinking of you, Nicola, and we’re all behind you.

If you’d like to support Nicola’s fundraiser or donate to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, you can visit nbcf.org.au.

Nicola, we wish you all the best for Wednesday. Your courage inspires more people than you know.
