When it comes to a builder’s unbuilt plans, one of the few indicators of quality a buyer has is the detail and impact of the visual render.

If the old adage, “the way you do anything is the way you do everything” holds true, it is well-worth taking more time to consider how your plans are being portrayed in market.

If you advertise on realestate.com.au / domain.com.au and run your own design range, it is arguably one of the more critical pieces of the marketing mix.

Renders are almost an unspoken statement of quality, particularly among the design-focused owner-occupier market.

Jo Mills, the director of Marketing from Urban Angles who provide videography, render and floor plan design for homebuilders across Australia, states that renders are the first impression of a builders product:

“A quality render sets the tone for the brand’s overall standard.”

“High-quality renders reflect attention to detail, craftsmanship, and professionalism, which are critical in building trust and excitement. They not only showcase the design but also help buyers visualise themselves in the space, creating an emotional connection that influences purchasing decisions”.

When it comes to the elements of a render that made an impact, Jo explains:

“The three factors that make for a great render are:

  • Realism: The more lifelike the render, the easier it is for buyers to see and understand the product. Accurate lighting, textures, and perspectives are crucial for authenticity.
  • Emotional Appeal: The most effective renders go beyond structural elements to evoke a sense of ambiance. Whether capturing the warmth of natural sunlight through a window or the inviting glow of dusk, these details create an emotional response that resonates with buyers.
  • Attention to Detail: Small touches, from landscaping to architectural finishes, demonstrate quality and care. This not only enhances the realism but also reinforces the builder’s reputation for delivering excellence.”

Urban Angles have been producing photorealistic renders, photography and video for home builders for the past 10 years. They partner with many of Australia’s high-end builders to develop life-like renders to bring an unbuilt home to life, or to capture their completed projects through photography and video.

If you’re considering upping your game when it comes to visually representing your homes, consider a conversation with Jo Mills and the Urban Angles team today. A few examples of their work below.
