The home building industry is the backbone of this country and its economy. Yet, mainstream media often paints a bleak picture; stories of insolvencies, delays, and affordability challenges dominate the headlines. But the reality is that many builders are delivering high-quality homes, running profitable businesses, and earning the trust of their clients.
That’s why we launched The Good Builder not just as a news platform but as a space to showcase the builders, trades, and suppliers who are making a real difference. We’re here to create conversations, provide practical resources, and connect the industry through a shared vision for better home building.
Bringing Builder Stories to Life
We’re excited to announce that our first Good Builder profile videos are in the final stages of post-production. These videos feature real builders, sharing their stories, challenges, and insights into what it takes to build great homes and run strong businesses.
On top of that, this week saw our co-founders Aaron Ng and Peter Love record the first episode of The Good Builder podcast. Aaron reflected on the first podcast,
“These conversations will dive into the realities of home building covering everything from industry trends to hot topics.“
Peter added,
“We also want to share more personal experiences, like we did with Zaleta, and give listeners real, unfiltered insights that people are talking about.”
We know it’s hard to compete with the South East Queensland news cycle given Cyclone Alfred, but we wanted to take a moment to share this milestone. If you’re in the danger zone over the next few days, stay safe and look after one another.

More Than News: A Platform for Builders
At The Good Builder, we are focused on delivering more than just industry updates. Our goal is to provide value, whether through expert advice, insights from successful builders, or resources to help businesses navigate challenges and improve your operations.
We are creating a space where builders can learn from one another, share their experiences, and engage in real conversations about the future of home building. Our vision is to create an engaged community that connects thousands of builders across Australia, giving them access to knowledge, support, and practical tools to help them succeed.
What We’re Aiming to Achieve
Our goal is to create a media platform that:
- Provides balanced reporting on the industry, highlighting both challenges and success stories
- Showcases builders, trades, and suppliers that are making an impact and overcoming obstacles
- Creates no-nonsense conversations about how to improve the industry and move it forward
- Offers expert insights, practical resources, and business strategies for builders.
As the platform grows, we’ll also be looking to host industry forums and events, bringing builders together to share ideas, discuss challenges, and shape the future of home building.
Independence and Industry Impact
The Good Builder is an independent platform, free from any one particular influence or industry politics. We celebrate those who are making a positive impact while also engaging in the tough conversations about where the industry needs to improve. Just look at the recent buzz we’ve created around Waffle Pods.
We’re grateful for the support we’ve received so far, and we’d love to hear from more builders, trades, and industry professionals. Please reach out if you have a story to share or a topic you think needs attention. We’re building this community together.
