From Damp Tarmac to the Podium

Queensland Raceway’s return to the Carrera Cup calendar brought challenging wet conditions, and an impressive P2 finish for Brett Boulton in the MyConstruct Porsche. The Pro-Am podium came at the halfway point of the championship and proved that focus, adaptability, and skill under pressure win races.

Trackside with MyConstruct and Brett Boulton

We had the pleasure of being at the circuit on Friday for practice and qualifying, getting a first-hand look at the MyConstruct Porsche in action. Seeing Brett Boulton, of Bold Living, fine-tune the Lightning McQueen-inspired car ahead of the weekend’s races was a highlight, but the day was about more than just lap times.

We spent time with Jake Barry from MyConstruct, talking not only about the challenges facing builders right now but also the importance of forging relationships outside the job site. Motorsport has a way of breaking down barriers…it’s a shared experience that sparks different conversations, builds trust, and opens doors to opportunities that don’t always happen in the office or on a slab.

In between the roar of flat-sixes down the main straight, Jake took us through the depth of MyConstruct’s platform. From project management to estimating and client communication, their software is comprehensive and designed with builders’ realities in mind. MyConstruct isn’t just a logo on a fast car, they’re actively involved in the industry, listening to feedback, refining their tools, and showing up in spaces where builders gather, whether that’s a trade event or a race paddock.

A Builder Creating His Dream On and Off Site

Boulton’s P2 finish in slippery conditions was more than a trophy moment. It’s the story of a builder who has built a thriving business and found a way to chase his passion at speed. For those of us in the industry, it’s a reminder that while the day-to-day demands can be intense, making time for personal goals can fuel professional success.

Lessons For Builders Out There

  • Performance Under Pressure: Whether it’s a wet track or a complex build, success comes from preparation, composure, and the right systems.
  • Relationships Beyond the Site: Shared experiences like motorsport create stronger industry bonds and new opportunities for collaboration.
  • Active Industry Support: MyConstruct is investing in technology that directly benefits builders, and they’re visible, accessible, and engaged.
  • Dreams in Action: Brett’s podium is proof that big goals, on site and off, are worth chasing.

The Good Builder Take

Round 4 at Ipswich was more than a motorsport milestone, it was a showcase of how construction businesses can think bigger, act boldly, and back themselves. MyConstruct is doing it with their technology and their industry relationships. Brett Boulton is doing it behind the wheel.

Building Better Guide

Building better is not a slogan. It is a decision builders make, job by job, about the standard they hold themselves to when no one is checking. This is what that decision looks like in practice, and why it is becoming the clearest line between the builders who last...
