Simonds Homes will consolidate its position as one of Australia’s biggest home builders after agreeing to acquire Dennis Family Homes (DFH) for $10 million.

Simonds Executive Chair Rhett Simonds said the acquisition more than doubles the company’s product portfolio and increases it’s display home portfolio by 40%. 

“It significantly expands our market reach which places us in a strong position to help meet the growing housing demand in the Victorian market and across Australia,” Mr Simonds said.

“In a time of increasing demand for accessible housing options, this acquisition enables us to scale up with a robust product line that meets the needs of first-time buyers, growing families, and downsizers alike.”

The deal will see the DFH brand continue designing, building and selling residential homes in Victoria and New South Wales.  

The acquisition is expected to be completed in early March this year.

  • Established in 1982, DFH is a wholly owned member of the Dennis Family Group.
  • The Dennis Family Group’s business activities include residential, retail and commercial property development, having built 30,000 homes in over 40 years, exclusively constructing homes under the Dennis Family Homes brand since 2004.
  • The Dennis Family Group are only divesting DFH, and will retain the development and other segments of their business. 
  • The Dennis Family Group is headquartered in Armadale (inner eastern Melbourne), Victoria. DFH generated FY24 revenue of $221.2m.
