Saturday night marked a milestone for one of the Australian building industry’s quiet success stories. Goop Guys, the protective coatings specialists trusted by builders nationwide, celebrated their 25th anniversary with a night to remember at Australia Zoo.

Guests were welcomed with a truly unique experience, with exotic birds, reptiles and wildlife displays lining the entrance, setting the tone for a night that was as much about family and community as it was about business. Builders, suppliers, friends and team members from across the industry joined Kirstee and Shane for an evening that reflected the heart of the company they have built, authentic, warm and family first.

A Family Affair

In true Goop Guys fashion, the night was designed to bring people together. Face painting stations kept the kids entertained, while the relaxed atmosphere encouraged laughter, stories and shared memories. It was more than a corporate celebration, it was a family gathering, the kind of environment Kirstee and Shane have always fostered within their business.

A History of Innovation and Growth

Founded in 1999, Goop Guys began with a simple mission, to protect valuable surfaces during the building process. What started as a small operation has grown into a national brand that saves builders and homeowners thousands of dollars by preventing damage to glass, stone, benchtops, floors and other precious finishes.

Over 25 years, the business has become synonymous with reliability and innovation. From its beginnings in South East Queensland, Goop Guys now operates across the country, providing the construction industry with a smarter, cleaner and more sustainable way to deliver homes without costly rework.

Their reach extends beyond Australia too. Today, Goop Guys ship their protective coatings internationally, supporting builders and trades in global markets with the same trusted products that have made them a household name here at home.

A Big Surprise

As the formalities of the evening drew to a close, guests were treated to a heartfelt moment that underscored just how much Goop Guys is a family business. In an emotional announcement, Kirstee and Shane revealed they would be passing the reins of the company to their children Jordan and Krystal.

The surprise drew cheers and applause from the crowd, who know how deeply involved both Jordan and Krystal have been in the business over the years. It was a symbolic passing of the torch, ensuring the legacy of Goop Guys remains firmly in family hands and continues its tradition of innovation, service and integrity.

Celebrating the Next Chapter

The night at Australia Zoo was more than a reflection on the past 25 years, it was a statement about the future. With Jordan and Krystal stepping into leadership, the Goop Guys story is entering its next chapter, one that promises to build on strong foundations while embracing fresh ideas and energy.

As the industry faces new challenges in housing supply, sustainability and innovation, Goop Guys remains a partner builders can count on and a family business with its values firmly intact.

From humble beginnings to becoming a trusted name across Australia and now shipping their products worldwide, the 25th anniversary celebration showed exactly why Goop Guys has endured, they have always protected what matters most.

Thank you from all of us at The Good Builder for your support and for allowing us to share in celebrating this incredible milestone.
