For many builders, Lightning McQueen is a familiar name thanks to the kids, the merch, or the rewatch loop on the family iPad. But this weekend, that red and yellow icon isn’t just on screens. He’s back on track.
The MyConstruct.com Porsche, styled in a Lightning McQueen-inspired livery, will line up at Queensland Raceway for Round 4 of the 2025 Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia. The Century Batteries Ipswich Super440 marks the first time Carrera Cup has returned to the “Paperclip” in 17 years.
And for Brett Boulton and the team behind Car 95, it’s more than just another round. It’s a chance to show the construction industry, and motorsport fans, what purpose-built partnerships can really deliver.
A Track with History, and Now a New Chapter
Queensland Raceway hasn’t hosted Carrera Cup since 2008, making this a milestone event for fans and drivers alike. The 2.4km circuit, known for its tight layout and heavy braking zones, will challenge the field in both outright speed and race craft.
The weekend program includes two races for the Porsche field: a sprint on Saturday (2.10PM) and a longer enduro-format race on Sunday (8.00AM). For the Pro-Am class, where Boulton competes, it’s an opportunity to jostle for points mid-season.
Boulton’s results so far? Consistent. He placed third in Pro-Am during his Carrera Cup debut earlier this year, backed it up with a string of top-five finishes, and currently sits within striking distance of a podium position in the overall standings.
From Toybox to Track: The Build Behind the Brand
The Good Builder covered the car’s launch back in February, where the Lightning McQueen homage made its first appearance at Sydney Motorsport Park. At the time, MyConstruct CEO Jake Barry told us:
“We wanted to bring some fun to the grid, but also show the industry what quality partnerships look like, just like we do on the job site.” Mr Barry, Founder of MyConstruct said.
With backing from Bold Living and support across the construction tech community, the MyConstruct Porsche has become one of the most recognisable cars in the Carrera Cup paddock.
The livery alone does half the work, but it’s what it represents that really hits. Builders who use MyConstruct know the value of speed, accuracy, and systems that hold up under pressure. That’s as true on the track as it is in project timelines.
Builders on the Grid, and on the Tools
Part of what makes this campaign land is the crossover. MyConstruct isn’t just sponsoring for brand exposure, they’re reminding the building industry that good tech, like good tools, should perform where it counts.
It’s also a nod to builders doing it tough in a year where costs, compliance and capacity are all crunching down. This kind of project is about lifting heads and lifting spirits.
What Builders Should Watch For This Weekend
- Qualifying: Carrera Cup qualifying kicks off Friday at 3.00PM.
- Race 1: Saturday 9 August, 2.10PM
- Race 2: Sunday 10 August, 8.00AM
For builders in the Ipswich area, it’s a chance to see the action live. For everyone else, highlights and updates will be available via Porsche Carrera Cup Australia and Supercars coverage.
Whether or not you follow motorsport, the message is clear: performance matters. And when a construction tech company shows up with a car that looks like it drove straight out of your kid’s dreams — and delivers on track — it’s worth paying attention.
