Built by Builders, for Builders

In the latest episode of The Good Builder Podcast, host Az sat down with Glenn Leet and Tim Martin, the duo behind iGyro, a powerful, homegrown software platform helping Australian builders run smoother, smarter operations.

For Leet, who also heads Integrity New Homes, the story of iGyro began long before franchising or national growth. It started with a simple frustration many builders share: too many disconnected tools, too much manual admin, and too many headaches.

“We were like most builders,” says Glenn. “Too much friction between platforms. We were using this for quoting, that for scheduling, something else for CRM and it just became too hard. We needed something that worked, that scaled with us.”

So instead of buying another off-the-shelf system, Leet and Martin built one from the ground up, purpose-designed for Australian builders.

Two Decades of Refinement

iGyro isn’t some flash-in-the-pan tech startup. It’s the product of nearly 20 years of development, constant feedback from live building businesses, and ongoing updates.

“It started as a desktop application,” Tim explains. “But as builders’ needs evolved, so did we. Now it’s fully web-based, fast, modern, and accessible anywhere. It’s software built here, for here.”

Because it was designed and tested inside a real building company, iGyro isn’t theory, it’s battle-tested. The platform has been proven across builders of every size, from single-operator startups to national franchise networks delivering thousands of homes annually.

And one of the most striking details? For single users, iGyro is completely free.

“If you’re a one-person operation, you can use it forever, at no cost,” Glenn says. “Because if you grow, we want to grow with you. It’s a long-term partnership.”

What It Actually Does

iGyro is a complete business operating system. It combines estimating, scheduling, client management, communication, accounting, and data storage, all under one roof.

Here’s what that looks like in practice:

  • Estimating & Purchasing: Rapid quoting, bills of quantities, purchase orders, and supplier integration, everything a builder needs to cost a job accurately and consistently.
  • Scheduling: Interactive Gantt charts with drag-and-drop functionality. If a storm pushes back a slab pour, one click updates every related trade and schedule downstream.
  • Weather Tracking: Direct integration with the Australian Bureau of Meteorology automatically logs adverse weather days and generates client letters extending project timelines.
  • CRM & Workflow: From initial enquiry to final handover, every department; sales, estimating, project management, accounts can communicate within one system.
  • Client Portal: Secure, branded access for homeowners to track progress, view schedules, variations, and approved site photos.
  • Data & Reporting: Real-time reports across costs, timelines, and margins. Builders can compare estimated vs actual costs, track profitability per project, and identify bottlenecks across departments.
  • Security & Backups: Hosted in Australian data centres with full encryption and multi-factor authentication, critical in an age of rising cyberattacks targeting builders.

“Most builders don’t think about data security until it’s too late,” Tim says. “We’ve seen cases where 10 years of business data was lost because someone’s laptop was stolen. iGyro keeps everything safe and backed up in the cloud.”

The Australian Edge

iGyro is designed for Australian standards, Australian GST rules, and Australian builders.

“Other platforms might look slick, but they often can’t handle progress claims, GST or the way our industry actually works,” Glenn explains. “We’ve built every part of this around the Australian builder experience.”

That local focus extends beyond compliance, it’s cultural. Builders don’t just want another flashy SaaS platform; they want something that actually understands how they operate.

And that’s why iGyro resonates so strongly in a market flooded with global tools that “sell the dream” but rarely deliver on the ground.

Real-World Payoff: Less Stress, More Control

When asked what benefit builders feel most, Glenn doesn’t hesitate:

“Peace of mind,” he says. “The biggest change we see is people finally sleeping at night. The stress goes down because everything’s visible, trackable, and under control.”

Whether it’s managing site progress, handling council delays, or keeping clients informed, iGyro brings order to what’s often chaos in a builder’s week.

“Builders lie awake thinking about jobs, what’s delayed, what’s gone over budget, what’s missing,” Glenn adds. “If the system’s doing the heavy lifting for you, that mental load disappears.”

Beyond Efficiency: Protecting Your Future

Perhaps the most overlooked benefit of using software like iGyro is long-term data security.

When a client calls ten years later asking about a benchtop colour or tile selection, builders using iGyro can find the answer in seconds, not hours.

“That’s powerful,” says Glenn. “It signals professionalism and builds trust. And it can save you from legal headaches, too.”

The system’s detailed historical data, site photos, and documentation form an invaluable record that can support warranty claims, maintenance requests, and disputes years down the line.

Onboarding and Support

Despite its depth, iGyro isn’t just for tech-savvy operators. Tim and Glenn have designed it to suit everyone from first-time users to enterprise teams.

Smaller builders can onboard themselves using iGyro’s video tutorials, while larger businesses are guided through a structured onboarding program with goal-based video calls and team training.

“It’s achievable,” Tim says. “We set goals, catch up regularly, and help each department integrate the system. It’s not about dumping software on someone, it’s about partnership.”

More Than Software — A Smarter Way to Build

For Glenn, the creation of iGyro wasn’t just about tech. It was about solving the real, human challenges of running a building business; overwhelm, disorganisation, and stress.

“We’re not trying to add complexity,” he says. “We’re trying to simplify it. The goal is peace of mind. That’s what we’re really selling.”

As Az reflected in the episode, the message ties directly to The Good Builder’s broader mission: helping builders work smarter, build better, and live with more balance.

“At the end of the day,” Az says, “it’s not about faster quotes or prettier dashboards. It’s about getting your evenings back, your headspace back, and building a business that doesn’t burn you out.”

Where to Learn More

Builders can explore the platform or book a live demo at igyro.com.au. Daily webinars and recorded sessions are available for those wanting a closer look.

And, as Glenn points out, it costs nothing to try.

“For a single user, it’s free, forever. So there’s zero risk. Just jump in and start.”

The Takeaway

If you’re a builder still juggling spreadsheets, Dropboxes, and manual workflows, iGyro isn’t just another piece of tech, it’s a framework for control.

Built from decades of builder experience, tested in the field, and backed by genuine Australian support, it’s redefining what construction software should be: useful, local, and human.
